A passionate Mathematics Tutor, Coach and Mentor, I have been providing tutoring to WA students from Year 6 up to Year 11& 12 for the last 3 years.

Experience and background

I had been tutoring and mentoring teams for the last 25 years in various industries. Engineering background helps me to find quick references and applications to Math concepts. Ventured into tutoring due to passion for Maths and engage in building lives and careers. 

Industrial experience in Manufacturing, continuous improvement, team building and Mentoring for projects. This background helps me to guide student and help them to identify their ambitions and generate interest in learning. 

Teaching Methodology

I  am emphatic on the basics of any topic, I stress the importance of knowing the fundamentals. Students are given the opportunity to look at the topic at various angles that will prepare them to solve harder problems with relative ease towards the end of the chapter.

While introducing difficult topics that students are likely to have difficulty to follow, I prepare a few approaches and explain the underlying principle, building up the idea gradually. 

I adapt to the school curriculum, term plan followed in school. I also adapt to the knowledge level and pathway of the student's future academic plans. Key to effective teaching is to be rhymed with the student for each session. Always encourage questions, but also give time for student to independently bring own solutions.

Students are also encouraged to explain how they solved a problem or to find alternate method to reach the same solution.This promotes engagement and the student builds up confidence.
